Sonja H. Edleman Prince passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024.

The longtime beloved resident of Tybee Island was born in Charlotte, NC on May 23, 1960, to the late Clarence Wingate Hucks and Lois Virginia Pressley.

Sonja began her career as a server at the age of 14 at Captain Chris Restaurant. She later worked for T+M Restaurant and Anchor Lounge. Sonja dedicated more than 30 years of service to the patrons and Agnes Yoa of Sunrise Restaurant on Tybee Island and 10 years to the patrons and Jenny Orr of Fannies on the Beach. She was cherished by her Tybee Island family.

Sonja was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Edleman, and a grandson, Matthew P. Brownfield.

She is survived by her husband, Greg Prince; stepsons William, Cullen, Jeremy, and Noah; a daughter, Rebecca Hucks (Clifford Brownfield); the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Katelyn Brownfield; sisters, Sherree Teston and Sharon Dasher; a brother, Jeffrey Hucks (Crystal); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
